[WT] Japanese Ground Forces Arrived.

Japanese Ground Forces

Gaijin has shown the playerbase its release tree and dev servers for the upcoming patch! There is a lot to cover and I will have an article post within the next day or so. I have many articles planned for players to help make the transition to Japanese tanks simple. Stay tuned!

  2. Its safe to assume that the heavies will be coming soon, but will there be amphibious tanks and will the add more variants of each tank?

    1. I think that we'll see a SPAA variant of the Ka-Mi

  3. for the values we can currently see on the dev server there will be a large number of gaps on the japanese tech tree, with the guns being one of the reasons because even if the vehicle has sub-par armor but can still hurt others it's possible to make it work on higher BRs

this leads me to this question: were there any kind of experimental guns that were installed or ready to install on some of the tanks? that way new variants of them could fill some of the gaps in the BR

you also meant being "friends and colleagues" with Daigensui and if so I'd like to ask if any of the optional guns present in world of tanks (like the experimental 57mm available for the Chi-He) are vaible options for war thunder "standards" (being physically real and not just a project), I would guess that the ones that weren't real/associated to the wrong project were wargaming decision and not Daigensui who gave them false information

  4. I love how the base reload of Chi-Ri autoloader is 35 seconds (apparently takes 12 seconds for each shell to be loaded)
Base reload should be at 9 seconds so 27 and with beefed up crew to 17 seconds. The delay between each shot should go from 3.3 to 2.8 tbh, seriously AA 75mm guns shoot at 3 seconds delay.

Also give Chi-Ri the Tokku Otsu shell at 186mm @ 100m and move it from 5.0 to 5.7BR

No idea why ST-A1 is 6.7, move it to 6.3 like Cent III
    ST-A2 from 7.0 to 6.7

Also base reload for Chi-To is 10 seconds (slower than Panzer IV in reload eventhough Chi-To turret is more spacious, ammo in turret and the shell is lighter)
Decrease base reload to 8.5 sec.
    Then move it to 4.7BR

In future when Chi-Nu Kai comes that could be 4.3BR with only Tokku Kou shell and Chi-Nu II at 4.0 with only Tokku Kou shells, once they are added the Chi-To prototype could get Tokku Otsu and be further bumped to 5.0

    1. I think the Ch-Ri II with Tokku Otsu shell should be at 5.3 simple because it won't be able to perform well against 6.7 br tanks with its weak armor and long clip reload time.

    2. yeah, the reload between "clips" is simply unbelievable
reloading a 75mm shell on a turret that spacious should have at least the reload time of a 17pdr, afterall even the cramped Firefly has a reload of 7.6s (standard/before crew level bonus)
common sense and that fact I know the space inside the turret can influence reload, which shouldn't be a problem on the Chi-Ri, tells me a 28~30sec reload between clips could be more realistic

    3. Here, I made a post about it on live.warthunder: http://live.warthunder.com/post/544407/en/

  5. I am curious about something, did the Japanese really not use any ammo other than APHE and HE? they didn't develop APCR or HEAT ammo? I find it strange even when we know their resources were limited (although I recently learned they had thousands of aircraft, of several models, stored in a factory at the base of Mt. Fuji)

    1. They did. Gaijin just did not add them yet (in the dev server at least).
